Whats the best way to bring Traffic to a Blog?

Now look guys, I'm no newbie or anything, LoL However, I do seem to have a little trouble getting a sustained traffic flow on my blogs. Do you guys find its better to tell your Subscribers list about your blog, and work from that? Or use an outside source like Twitter, Articles, etc ? Any advice is much appreciated! :mrgreen:

Get your friends to comment on your blog using some of your keywords in their comments. It will raise your Google ranking so that your blog can quickly rise in searches organically. My team did this for one of my teammates and she rose from 5th to the #1 spot for her main keyword search.

That is a good idea Kesha!

I have found using Mike's Listdotcom does send traffic to your sites. It really works, so this is a good place to start.
Other is writing in blogs and forums using your website in the signature & writing articles which lead back to your website. I found seo tedious to begin with but when I started to see some results, it's become quite rewarding!

Yep, we did this actually not only for my teammates blog, but another teammates YouTube video. She also is in the top 5 for her main keyword search. Gotta love the power of teamwork!

Submit it on book marking sites. Give the link with a compelling heading on your social networks like face book and twitter and also there are few forums that allow promotion of your material. Try to submit the link there as well. Try out bizsugar.com that might help you out.

Article marketing does work, but submit to article directories that let you include links in your articles. These article directories let you put links as long as it pertains to what you are writing about.

Like any website you own, you must do some blog promotion to start driving traffic to your site. Here are some steps, in no particular order of importance, that you can start doing now to get traffic moving to your blog.

Set up an email subscription form on your blog and invite everyone in your network to subscribe: family, friends, colleagues, clients, associates.

Set up a feed on MyYahoo.com so your site gets regularly spidered by the Yahoo search engine.

Read and comment on other blogs that are in your target niche. Don't write things like "nice blog" or "great post." Write intelligent, useful comments with a link to your blog.

Use Ping-0-matic to ping blog directories. Do this every time you publish.

Submit your blog to traditional search engines.

Submit your blog to blog directories.

Add a link to your blog in your email signature file.

Put a link to your blog on every page of your website.

Lots of good posts, my comment is that I use several approaches combined to drive traffic to my blogs. I list in blog directories, post articles to directories with links back to my blog, ping my blog address after each post and post at least three times each week. Back links to related blogs and websites also help drive traffic to my blogs. Live links back to my blog are included in my free eBooks too. I check where traffic originates using Google Analytics. Article marketing has worked well for me overall, though.
